Rosati's Pizza was founded by Sam Rosati, the son of Ferdinand Rosati, an Italian
immigrant , who had been in the restaurant business since 1898 in New York. Sam opened his first Rosati's Italian restaurant in 1927 with pizza as an appetizer. The first official Rosati's Pizza locations opened its doors in the 1959 and 1964, after Sam's children took over the family business and moved the operations to the suburbs. They later franchised the company in the late 1970s. The company slogan is "Five generations of great taste!"Menu
The chain's specialties are its Double-dough crust and a traditional Chicago deep dish. In addition, a variety of other menu items are available, including
Italian beef and meatball sandwiches, lasagna , andcalzones . Rosati's uses deck slate ovens rather than typical conveyor ovens because its founders prefer [ [http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3190/is_n27_v30/ai_18480209 ] ] the crust that deck ovens produce. A few locations also offer salads and baby-back ribs, and burgers. Most of the menu is made from scratch. Rosati's own small sausage plant supplies Chicago-area units, and outside vendors reproduce the family sausage recipe elsewhere.tores
Most Rosati's locations are very similar, small stores, that are take-out or delivery specific, meaning they do not offer traditional dining rooms. Most locations do have a few seats inside and often seasonal outdoor tables that can either be used to eat or to wait for one's order, but very few offer a traditional wait staff.
A typical franchise investment in the company would currently be around $250,000 to obtain one store, according to published figures [ [https://www.franchisegator.com/Rosatis-Pizza-franchise/ ] ] . Rosati's main competition in the Chicago area consists of many smaller, family-owned pizzerias as well as some large competitors including Giordano's, Lou Malnati's, Aurelio's and
Home Run Inn .References
