Hans Ertl, born
21 February 1908 inMunich ,Germany ; died23 October 2000 inChiquitania ,Bolivia Hans was a German camera man during the Nazi era, also known as "Hitler's photographer". After the war he resettled in Bolivia and became a farmer. He did some filming in Bolivia but ceased after his film and tractor fell through a wooden bridge. He was the father of Marxist guerrilla
Monika Ertl and supposedly a lover ofLeni Riefenstahl . Though he would never return to Germany, days before his death he asked his daughter to send him a bag of German soil. Hans died in 2000, he was buried on his farm which is now a museum.
