Viscount St Davids [http://www.thepeerage.com/p5883.htm#i58826] ), Sharpville first came to prominence with his 1994 debut bluesalbum release "Touch Of Your Love" (Red Lightnin' Records - RLCD0095). The album achieved critical acclaim within the blues world, winning "Best Album" in the British Blues Connection awards (Britain's equivalent to the W.C. Handy Awards). At this time, Sharpville was predominantly known for putting together European touring bands for visiting American blues artists (such asHubert Sumlin ,Ike Turner ,Chuck Berry &Byther Smith ). However, he went on to win "Best Guitarist" in 1995 (beating fellow nomineesEric Clapton &Gary Moore ) and became a mainstay on the European blues circuit as a solo artist. His second blues album "The Meaning Of Life" (CRCD0057) was released in 2001 on (in different territories) Cathouse Records/Revolver Records/Universal Records and featured guestsLeo Sayer , Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges,Snowy White ,Paul Lamb ,Keith Dunn , and ex-Rolling Stones guitaristMick Taylor . In support of this release, Sayer & Taylor toured extensively as part of the Todd Sharpville Band. Sharpville can also be found on more than thirty fivecompilation album s, and at least fiveDana Gillespie releases. He additionally appears on TheMick Ronson Memorial Concert (Citadel Records - recorded at theHammersmith Apollo in 1994),Albert Hammond 's 2006 release "Revolution Of The Heart" (Sharpville is Hammond'smusical director ) and Leo Sayer's "Voice In My Head" (2005). Live performances include appearances withRobbie Williams ,Van Morrison , Peter Green,George Michael ,Taj Mahal (musician) ,Albert Collins ,Georgie Fame ,Kim Wilson ,Joe Louis Walker ,Tommy Castro ,Brian May , and the reformed version ofThe Yardbirds .Between 2005 and 2007, Sharpville has been billed as the European opening act for a variety of international artists such as
Pink (singer) ,Joe Cocker , andB.B. King . He is due to release his new album "Diary Of A Drowning Man" . This is a "confessional" album, inspired by hisdivorce .
