Ballyhoo! is a reggae band with many other genre influences that formed in July 1995 in Aberdeen, MD. In the beginning, Ballyhoo!'s main influences were pop-punk trio Green Day and grunge band Nirvana. Soon after, they became influenced by reggae bands such as Sublime, 311, and Goldfinger. This gave them the reggae feeling they have in the songs on their albums. The introduction of Blaze on turntables provides a very unique factor in their music. Though they currently have a small fanbase, it is rapidly increasing as they tour across the USA's East and West coast.

Their single "Longshot" was on the top 5 Rock list on www.garageband.com
