Timothy D. Naegele (born February 5, 1941) is an American lawyer, writer and photographer.

Early years

Naegele was born in Santa Monica, California, USA in 1941. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied economics and engaged in campus politics. [Naegele served as Vice President of the Freshman Class; President of the Sophomore Class; and Vice President of the Associated Students. Also, he was a member of Blue Key National Honorary, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Later, he served on the Board of Directors of the UCSB Alumni Association (1980-86), and as a Trustee of the UCSB Foundation (1987-1990). Upon his graduation from the University of California, Berkeley, he practiced law briefly with Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco, and then spent two years as an officer in the United States Army (1967-1969), assigned to U.S. Army Element, Defense Intelligence Agency at The Pentagon, Washington, D.C., where he received the Joint Service Commendation Medal. Following his discharge, he obtained his L.L.M. from Georgetown University in 1969, where he served on the Board of Editors of Law and Policy in International Business, an international business law publication of the law school. Capitol Hill

In early 1969, he went to Capitol Hill where he spent two and a half years (1969-1971) as counsel to the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. From 1971-1972, he was Administrative Assistant (or chief of staff) to Senator Edward W. Brooke of Massachusetts, where he served as an advisor, speechwriter, and directed the senator's staff through his re-election campaign of 1972. In early 1973, he became a partner with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Brownstein, Zeidman & Schomer; and in mid-1977, he founded his own law firm of Timothy D. Naegele & Associates, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, which survives to this day. Among the financial institution acquisitions that he has handled are Southern California Savings by The Securities Groups (1982); acquisitions by Household Bank, F.S.B., of Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan of Baltimore (1984), American Heritage of Illinois (1984), Fidelity Savings & Loan of Martins Ferry, Ohio (1985), Brighton Federal of Colorado (1985), and Century Savings of Kansas (1985); and the acquisition of United Bank of San Francisco by Hibernia Bancshares Corporation (1986).
