John Campbell Brown

Professor John Campbell Brown FRSE (born 4 February 1947) currently holds the following positions:
* Astronomer Royal for Scotland (since 1995)
* Honorary Professor of Astronomy, University of Edinburgh
* Regius Professor of Astronomy, University of Glasgow

He is involved in the teaching programme at the University of Glasgow, teaching first year astronomy stellar physics amongst other subjects.According to [http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/people/people.php?person=john his University of Glasgow webpage] his position as Astronomer Royal for Scotland involves giving talks and performances to the public, the objective seeming to be to generate wider interest in the subject.
