FC Magna Wiener Neustadt is an Austrian football club from Wiener Neustadt.

The club was just as recently formed as in May 2008 following the demise of SC Schwanenstadt and play in Austria's Second Division

History

FC Magna obtained the right to play in Austria's 2nd Division because SC Schwanenstadt collapsed in January 2008 due to financial problems. Their playing licence was taken over by Magna and because Schwanenstadt ended the 2007/2008 season in 7th place, newly-formed FC Magna were allowed in for the 2008/2009 season. On May 19th, Austrian-Canadian bussiness man Frank Stronach was elected president of the club.

FC Magna Wiener Neustadt played their first ever league game on July 12th 2008 against relegated side FC Wacker Innsbruck and lost 0-3.
