Roadology

Roadology is the study of road travel of a region with emphasis on its relationship to culture or its impact on the development of an area. The field is important to cultural anthropology because of the correlation between roads and society. Two examples include the unique American culture that developed from Route 66 in the United States or the how the Silk Road effected commerce in the Far East and Europe.
