The Fatarella has irregular and winding streets that present/display characteristic an architectonic element: ' ' perxes' ' , that is sections of street covered by means of envigados or stone arcs that unite several houses. The origins of the Fatarella Average Age is
medieval , as they show the facades of many houses, which has portaladas of stone where there are thresholds carved with different symbols and inscriptions. During the Age the town mediates was walled, to offer protection to its inhabitants, mainly in front of the brigands and the wolves. The wall locked up that it was formed taking advantage of the walls the own houses, that they have between 80 and 120 cm in width, and by vestibules from access the town, that abrían when leaving the sun and they were closed in his decline. This defensive system continued until entered goodcentury XVII , when the great growth of the population forced to surpass the walled enclosure. Nowadays still vestiges of these walls can be seen of which the location of the access doors to the walled enclosure can be deduced. In spite of the medieval origin of the population, apparently the beginnings of the poblamiento of the Fatarella come from a Muslim watchtower. This was in the site in which at the moment there is the chapel of ' ' Mare de Déu of the Misericòrdia' ' , and from his Arab name it could derive the name of the population, although there are other etymological theories. They are not vestiges of the tower, but from viewpoint of the High Terra this place and reach of the territory can be verified magnificent panoramic that is descried from that thence could be realised.Bibliography
