    Music video

    According to EMI Japan, the video for "A Beautiful Lie" was going to be shot in both Alaska and the North Pole. Jared Leto then moved the video to Greenland and the band has started shooting since August 29, 2007. Jared has said that the video will be environmentally safe and for every download of the video, a donation will go to an environmental charity. Jared Leto has said on an over-the-phone interview with 99X in Atlanta that the video will be like a short film and a documentary.     On January 28 it was aired through Myspace and is soon to be aired on MTV. The video is showing the importance of global warming. The video was directed by Angakok Panipaq. It features hidden messages and a support website abeautifullie.org.

    The video is a montage of images of the Greenland environment interwoven with scenes of the band playing on the edge of an iceberg, and has the slight feel of a documentary. Only the three remaining members of the band feature in the video, touring bassist Tim Kelleher does not make an appearance.
