Wang Yi (volleyball)

Wang Yi (zh-cp|c=王怡|p=Wáng Yí) was a Chinese volleyball player and is currently an assistant volleyball coach at Columbia University. She currently resides in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Biography

Wang was a member of the China women's national volleyball team in the 1996 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and the 1991 and 1995 FIVB Women's World Cup.

Wang received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California in 2002.

Wang was an assistant coach of the volleyball team at the Pennsylvania State University and helped lead the Nittany Lions to back-to-back Big Ten titles in 2003 and 2004 and a pair of Sweet Sixteen berths. Then she served as the top assistant at Rutgers University and helped the Scarlet Knights to six big victories in 2005, including wins over St. John’s and DePaul.
