"Lord Byron of Broadway" is a 1930 musical drama film, directed by Harry Beaumont and William Nigh.

The film was produced majorly in black and white, but was partially filmed in Technicolor.

ynopsis

Roy Erskine, a Broadway songwriter, finds a new reach for his songs. He puts the stories of his broken romances into song and turning his old love letters into lyrics. He even tried to capitalize on the death of his best friend and turns it into the material of a tear-jerker, and turns into a hit.

Origin

In 1928, MGM announced it was going to turn the novel Lord Byron of Broadway into a musical starring stars William Haines and Bessie Love, but both refused the roles.

Critical Response

The expensive film received both negative critical reviews and poor box-office revenue. Its nonappealing plot and mediocre casting made the film a flop in the theatres.
