Jon Moulton (born 15 October 1950) is a British venture capitalist. He is the founder and managing partner of the
private equity firm Alchemy Partners .Moulton is originally from
Stoke-on-Trent . He was educated atLancaster University , where he took a degree in chemistry. He then trained as achartered accountant , and joinedCoopers & Lybrand in 1972. He left in 1980 to joinCiticorp Venture Capital , and became managing director in London. He was managing partner ofSchroder Ventures from 1985 to 1994, and after a spell atApax Partners founded Alchemy in 1997.
