There are six houses in Howick College, each house is then subdivided into 12 tutor groups.
*Bacot House - named after John Thomas Watson Bacot, a surgeon who came out to the Howick area with the Fencibles. The house colour is green.
*Bell House - named after the building Bell House situated at the Howick Colonial Village. The house colour is blue.
*Ingham House - named after the first principal of Howick College, Mr Don Ingham. The house colour is orange.
*Irvine House - named after one of the early English settlers, Captain John Irvine. The house colour is yellow.
*MacDonald House - named after Captain Alexander MacDonald, who was voted into the position of Warden of Howick. The house colour is red.
*Minerva House - named after the one of the first first ship "Minerva" which transported the first settlers and Fencibles to Howick in 1847. The house colour is pink.
