Gakuen Sōsei Nekoten! is manga written by Yuji Iwahara. It follows the adventures of high school students and their cats that had received powers from an deceased princess with her cat.

Synopsis

Yumi and her cat Kansuke had just entered at Matabi Academy, which was anciently cursed. All goes quite well when they are suddenly dragged in an war that had began long ago to stop Kaen, the king of monster. Long time ago he destroyed the Futakago kingdom, since then the Princess and her cat Shirayuki fought him and gave powers to "pair", a pair of one cat and one human blessed with the power they deserve. Long before, when he was imprisonned, Kaen had promised he would came back in one hundred year and this time has come. All the students from student committee have been chosen to fight him. But when Kaen's subordinate, Tsukumoishu, attacked Yumi and Kansuke became the seventh pair, she can now speak with cats and has now a power. They now have to protect the remaining part of Futakago kingdom.

Characters

The main protagonists are the pair chosen by the princess of Futakago and Shirayuki, part of the Student Counsil. The antagonist are Kaen's followers who want to help him to regain his powers.

Protagonist

Yumi Hayakawa
A new student of Matabi Academy, she chose this school because she knew it was allowed to come with their cat, so she could come with Kansuke. She loves knitting and often make pull or dress for Kansuke. She is clumsy and silly but some kind lucky. Four years ago, she took in Kansuke who had just been hitten by some car and this save him. She falls in love with Tsubame Akifuji, she feels quite jealous of Sakura. Her power is woolball which can be used to transform Kansuke in a human form or make a good shield.
Kansuke
He is Yumi's cat, a four year mixed blood orange eyed white and grey tabby stripped tom. He has a scar on the front because four years ago he was hitten by some car and was bleeding on the road until Yumi came crying and took him in. He became her pet and swore to protect her from any danger, so he had to become strong. He is stubborn, strong willed, competitive and he hates Yumi's knit's work.
Shin Kamio
The president of the third year. He is strict and fights alone.
Yamato
Pure blooded blue eyed white tom of six years. He is the brother of Sakura and descendant of Shirayuki. He tends to act like a chief.
Kotori Hasutani
She is the vice -president. Her partner is Musashimaru. Her parents are divorced. She is kind and prefer talking more than fighting. Her power makes Musashimaru becoming strong and bigger to fight ennemies by creating food, because she is an excellent cook.
Musashimaru
Six years old ginger mixed Persian tom. He is very big. He wants to be the leader of the stray cat and so fight against Kansuke on the first day, and they tend to argue with each other. He doesn't like to be giving orders by Yamato.
Kaiya Yamamoto
He is the prefect of class.
Hissui
A six years pure blooded Siamese she -cat.
Futaba Aoki
She is the delegated nurse.
Gekko
A seven years black mixed blood tom with some scars.
Tsubame Akifuji
He is the clerk. Yumi fell for him, he actually loves reading but he likes the part of silly of Yumi. He can changed Sakura in a bow that can always find his target and see at 380°. He is popular even with she -cats.
Sakura
A five years white pure blooded she -cat. She gave the key of the secret chamber to Tsubame. She is Yamato's sister and descendant of Shirayuki.
Tsukasa Hinode
He is the delegated of the cultural committee. He can control space and time to make people enter in Raimu's dreams, he is then nearly invincible. He loves girls.
Raimu
A five years Scottish fold tortoiseshell and white tom. He nearly always sleeping. He loves slepping on head, but prefers Tsukasa's head.
Princess Kirihime of Futakago
She died long ago when Kaen burn her kingdom. Since she reapeared to stop Kaen from his destruction path. She chose pair to give power to and fight Kaen.
Shirayuki
She is the cat of the princess of Futakago, she died alongside her and fight with her. She is white with a black V on chest and the magic sign on the head.

Antagonist

Kaen
He is the oldest of the cat dog with two tails. His fur is covered with a black oil and his preferred weapon his fire.He is jealous of success so he destroyed kingdoms of high destinies. When he destroyed Futakago's kingdom, the princess and Shirayuki swore to stop him. He succeded in escaping from the sanctuary, but he has to regain more power.
Tsukumoishu
He is Kaen's subordonate who appeared before Yumi to take her head for her hairs. He is a fox spirit. He is the leader of the bad spirit of Kaen.
Rachi
One of Tsukumoishu's subordinate. She possessed a human. She ate cats. Her true form is a sort of aracnide insect.

Others

Shinpachi
A tabby cat that was searching for his friend Ponta, Yumi had decided to help him. He found out he had been eaten when he protected Yumi from Rachi. He learned her that stray cats knew she was kind to cats and humans and so was a good master. He become friend with Yumi and Kansuke.
