Louis C. Midgley is a retired professor of political science at
Brigham Young University . Since his retirement he has been closely involved with theFoundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies and done many indepth studies on the thought and writtings of anti-Mormons.Midgley was raised a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remains a vocal defender of that faith. He received his bachelors degree from theUniversity of Utah and holds a Ph.D. fromBrown University .Following his retirement Midgley and his wife served as
Church Educational System missionaries inNew Zealand .While a professor at BYU Midgley taught a class on the Constitution and its ratification at least once a year. He also wrote about the works of
Paul Tillich andDostoevsky .Midgley contributed the article on theology to the
Encyclopedia of Mormonism . In 2005-2006 Midgley served as editor of the "FARMS Review".Other topics Midgley has studied included the abandonment of a belief in the
