Patrick de Saint-Exupéry started his career at age 19 after winning a young reporters award.
He worked for several newspapers :

* "France Soir " at the foreign service in1987
* Freelancer for "l'Express " and "Grands Reportages " in1988
* "Le Figaro " at the foreign service, starting in1989 During the course of his career he covered
Africa ,Cambodia ,Canada ,Liberia ,South Africa , theGulf War ,Iran ,Libya ,Saudi Arabia andRwanda , and finallyMoscow , where he was a permanent correspondent from2000 to2004 .In 2005 he started working on Africa again, as a journalist for "
Le Figaro ".He won the
Albert Londres award in 1991 for its series on the Liberian civil war and the end of theapartheid . Patrick de Saint-Exupéry is also a member of theAlbert Londres award's jury.Since January 2008, he took a leave from the Figaro newspaper to launch, with
Laurent Beccaria , the "XXI " newsmagazine where he is editor-in-chief.
