Túlio Humberto Pereira Costa (born
June 2 ,1969 , inGoiânia ,Goiás ,Brazil ), sometimes simply nicknamed Túlio or Túlio Maravilha for his great creativity on the field, Tulio is a veteran Brazilian internationalfootball (soccer) forward.Túlio Costa, 1.75 meters tall, played for club teams Goiás, Sion (Switzerland), Botafogo, Corinthians, Vitória, Fluminense, Cruzeiro, Vila Nova, São Caetano, Santa Cruz,
Újpest FC (Hungary), Wilstermann (Bolívia), Anapolina, Volta Redonda, Juventude,Tupy -ES, Fast,Itauçuense and Canedense. Playing for Botafogo, he won the Brazilian championship (Campeonato Brasileiro Série A ) in 1995, a cup known as "Taça Cidade Maravilhosa" in 1996, and Taca Rio-Sao Paulo in 1998 having Bebeto as a partner in the atack. He scored more than 800 career goals. Tulio had the best moments of his career in Botafogo where he was twice the Brazilian top scorer and the Brazilian champion in 1995. His image will be forever associated with Botafogo where he plans to return to score goal number 1000 and become one of the three player in history to score a thousand goals or more.Túlio was also famous for scoring the controversial equalizer against Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 1995 Copa America inUruguay . With about ten minutes remaining in regulation time, Túlio brought down a cross with his arm, while in an off-side position, before shooting the goal into the Argentine net to draw the match at 2-2. Brazil advanced to the next round at the expense of Argentina as a result of winning a penalty kick shootout.In a match against Trindade, Túlio scored the 700th goal of his career while playing with Canedense.
