Operational task

Operational tasks are short duration activities within military and business operational mission that are ongoing and repetitive, and can vary in duration from under a minute to several days, though usually in peacetime are limited to the working day.

In the military organisations operational tasks are generally planned activities that can be viewed in terms of distinct chronological stages of completion, and help to make complexity of missions simpler to execute by following a serial set of instructions. Operational tasks do not involve combat).
