Sudanese Regroupment Party (in French: "Parti du Régroupement Soudanais"), initially known as Sudanese Progressive Party ("Parti Progressiste Soudanais"), was a
political party inFrench Soudan . PPS was founded in1946 . It was led byFily Dabo Sissoko .PPS represented conservative sections of Soudanese society, and received support from the colonial administration.
PPS came second in the
1956 National Assembly elections, largely because it didn't support independence. After the defeat Sissoko changed the name of his party to PRS.
