Sudanese Regroupment Party

Sudanese Regroupment Party (in French: "Parti du Régroupement Soudanais"), initially known as Sudanese Progressive Party ("Parti Progressiste Soudanais"), was a political party in French Soudan. PPS was founded in 1946. It was led by Fily Dabo Sissoko.

PPS represented conservative sections of Soudanese society, and received support from the colonial administration.

PPS came second in the 1956 National Assembly elections, largely because it didn't support independence. After the defeat Sissoko changed the name of his party to PRS. Soon thereafter he disbanded the party and joined his main adversary, the Sudanese Union.
