- Anselm Haverkamp
Anselm Haverkamp (born 1943) is a German literary critic. Having studied English literature,
philosophy andhistory at theUniversity of Konstanz , he gained hisPhD at theUniversity of Heidelberg in 1975. In 1989, he became Professor of English at theNew York University , since 1996, he also teachescomparative literature at theEuropean University Viadrina (Frankfurt (Oder) ). Influenced by post-structuralist thought, Haverkamp wrote several books on the theory ofmetaphor . He also published works onFriedrich Hölderlin ,Walter Benjamin andJacques Derrida . He is the secretary-general of the International Walter Benjamin Society.List of publications
