Christmas in Indonesia

Christmas is a common festival in Indonesia, although only 8 % of Indonesians are Christians, Christmas is popular with the Muslim population in Indonesia as Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet of Allah, while Christians believe Jesus is the son of the Jewish god, Adonai. Christmas celebrated Jesus' birth. Christmas is also popular with the Animists and Hindus of Indonesia. Some Muslim clerics don't agree with Christmas but most Indonesian Muslims ignore their warnings.
