Introduction
Gladiators: The Legends Return was a special edition of the 2008 UK series of Gladiators. which aired on the 31st August 2008 on Sky One The special one and a half hour finale to the successful first season of the Gladiators revival, pitted the Gladiators of the new series against the original Gladiators of the '90s series. Because of copyright issues with ITV, the Legends were not allowed to wear their trademark Gladiator costumes for the Charity special and instead had brand new costumes made especially for the show.Fact|date=August 2008
The Legends
The original Gladiators to take part were:

Format
The show took the same format as the main series with only a few logistical differences. The Legends took the role of competitors against the new Gladiators and tried to earn points each round.Rather than gaining a 0.5 second headstart in the Eliminator for each point earned, the total number of points accrued was divided by four as there would be four Gladiators taking part in the Eliminator in a relay.
The Eliminator
In the Eliminator, the new Gladiators were pitted against the original Gladiators. The Eliminator was completed in relay fashion, with 4 different Gladiators from each team completing each section.
Result
Women - The Legends defeated the new Gladiators thanks to their 10.5 second headstart. By the end of the Eliminator, the gap had been closed to two seconds.
Men - The new Gladiators defeated the Legends. The Legends had earned a 4.5 seconds headstart but chose to give this up to provide a level playing field.
The mens' Eliminator was particularly notable; firstly because Predator completed the handbike in a time of less than seven seconds, and secondly because Atlas became the first person to keep hold of the cottonreel as it rolled to it's base.
