Farajollah Rasai

Admiral Farajollah Rasai (1910- 2002) was the Commander of Imperial Iranian Navy (1961 - October 4, 1972) and the most senior naval officer in the history of Iranian Navy. He joined the navy in 1929 and was trained in the Naval Academy of Livorno in Italy. Under his command the Iranian Navy has regained the Islands Abu Musa and the Tunbs on 30 November 1971. He is known as the father of modern Iranian Navy. After retirement in 1972 he was senator until Islamic Revolution when he left Iran and lived in USA until he died in 2002.
