- Vladimir Nemukhin
Vladimir Nemukhin (born1925 inMoscow ) is a Russian artist. Nemukhin studied under the direction of Petr E. Sokolov (assistant toKazimir Malevich ) and later Pavel Kuznezov). Nemukhin was associated with Lianozovo Circle along withOscar Rabine , Valentina Kropivnitskaia,Lidiya Masterkova , a diverse group of artists and poets who fought steadfastly and uncompromisingly for creative freedom. Nemukhin was one of the significant personalities in the Moscow art world of the 1960s and 1970s. He paints abstract works that usually include images of playing cards. Since 1959, Nemukhin participated in over a hundred group exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world, including the first shows of nonconformist art, the 1st autumnal review "in the open air" ("Bulldozer Exhibition "). His works are in major public collections in Russia, Europe, and United States. In 2008 Nemukhin became an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He lives and works in Moscow.References
