Hjalmar Winbladh

Hjalmar Winbladh [1] is a serial entrepreneur from Sweden. Today he is CEO of Rebtel, which he co-founded in early 2006. His previous venture was Sendit AB, which pioneered mobile Internet services via mobile operators in 1994. He and his co-founder, Jonas Lindroth took Sendit public in Sweden in 1997. Sendit was acquired in 1999 for $150 million by Microsoft where Winbladh served as general manager of Microsoft’s Mobile Internet Business Unit until 2001.

In May 2006 Hjalmar Winbladh co-founded Rebtel with Jonas Lindroth. Rebtel offers its users the chance to make low cost international mobile-to-mobile or mobile-to-landline calls.

In March 2007 Rebtel received the Red Herring 100 Europe Award [2] .
