Early in her career, Jones was the assistant editor for her father on two films ("See No Evil, Hear No Evil " (1989), "The Babe " (1992)). She had several editing credits in the early 1990s for independent films and documentaries, and was the associate editor (with editorBilly Weber ) on "Grumpier Old Men " (1995). Her first editing credit on a major studio film was for "Murder at 1600 " (1997), which she co-edited with Weber.Jones and her co-editors
Billy Weber andSaar Klein were widely recognized for their work on "The Thin Red Line" (directed byTerrence Malick - 1998).
