Early Life
Marilu C. Flores-Fernandez was born in Miami Florida on August 23rd. As a young child she expressed a sincere interest in the arts and writing, but in particular she was fond of moving images and film.
She has quoted her favorite film as a child to be Ben-Hur.
Throughout her early school years she involved herself in writing and arts projects in her school and around the community. She attended Kensington Park Elementary School in South Florida until grade 4, after which she was transfered to a Private Catholic School for Middle School.
She attended Miami Springs Sr. High, Freshman through Junior year and was Editor of the Arts and Entertainment section of the school's newspaper.
Senior year she transfered to Coral Gables Sr. High in Coral Gables, Florida. Where she became heavily involved in the school's A/V Department, she credits this period in her life for helping her "develop and mature" as a film maker. ----
Contributions As A Writer
Her literary works were first published when she was merely eight years old; a collection of short stories by children for children, to date she has contributed human interest stories to various newspapers and magazines in the United States and abroad. A series of intense articles on sexual slavery in the Americas and Asia was submitted for consideration of the Pulitzer Prize in 2005.

As a Film Maker
As a film maker she has worked on various projects from Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday to earning a Special Thanks on Ridley Scott's American Gangster.
Her last project "Undocumented"a film written and Directed by another Florida native Joel Rodriguez, has been featured in over two dozen film festivals in the United States and Internationally; it has won recognition at a handful of those festivals and generated quite a bit of buzz for both the Director of the film and Marilu herself who produced the film.
A Florida native, Marilu was a part of the Florida Film Institutes Children's Film Program throughout high school. Upon graduation from Coral Gables Sr. High she received a scholarship to Columbia University in the City of New York, initially pursuing a degree in Journalism; however, after some time Marilu returned to Florida and pursued her true love, Motion Picture Science and Technology.

Today, Marilu resides in California with her husband Eddy Fernandez Jr., a talented award winning Writer and Producer.
