Ambrose Mendy

Ambrose Mendy (b. 1954) is a Black British boxing promoter and sports agent. He represented boxer Nigel Benn and footballer Paul Ince, but spent much of the 1990s imprisoned for fraud. As of 2007, he was acting as a consultant to promoter Dennis Hobson. Career

Ambrose Mendy was amongst the first Black sports promoters/agents to successfully break into the scene during the late 1980s. His career was dogged by a string of convictions and he was jailed for 30 months in 1991 on charges of fraud, then convicted again four years later on additional fraud charges and sentenced to seven years. Awards

Mendy set a world record for eating three Jacob's cream crackers without drinking in 49.15 seconds on October 29, 2002.
