Finjan SecureBrowsing

Finjan SecureBrowsing is a security application like MyWOT and Mcafee Site Advisor. It scans the webpages for viruses or malware, and then reports them. Finjan SecureBrowsing is available for Internet Explorer and Firefox on a PC or a Mac.

Usefullness

Finjan is great because, unlike other security applications like WOT or WebSiteAdvisor, Finjan scans the pages for viruses and does not rely on user ratings. It has caught many Anti-Virus XP clones.

False Positives

However, using Finjan will block you from sites like Symantec Scans, CBS, Technocrati, and other popular websites. It will say "Potentially Malicious Behavior Detected on this Page." It used to mark Yahoo! Search as malicious.

Reviews

This product, however, needs some work. It will present to you many false positives and does not protect you from phising. On a test, it failed to protect a user from ten popular phising websites. A pro, however, is email link scans. It can scan links in emails, according to PC Magazine. However, it has many errors. On the Finjan Site Analysis, it shows the Macsweeper website as having spyware. Then, on a Google search, it says that Macsweeper is clean.
