Origins

AlarmForce was founded in the year 1988 by Joel Matlin, the current President & Chief Executive Officer. In 1969 Matlin founded another security company named Frisco Bay Industries, a company with a broader scope. The Proprietary Model

AlarmForce initially relied on franchisees to distribute to the major markets in
Canada. However, it soon gave up the franchisee model to use its own resources for expansion. This model proved to be more financially rewarding and now AlarmForce operates on its own. Today, AlarmForce manufactures, installs and monitors its own security systems using its own proprietary technology, without outsourcing any of the processes.

AlarmForce went public in 1997. In November of 2004 AlarmForce established its US head office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
