This Electronic Media Site was founded on February 15, 2000 as the Houston High School Baseball Score Board by Randy Byers of Houston, TX and became Houston 5A Baseball on February 22, 2001. Houston 5A Baseball is dedicated to 5A High School Baseball coverage in the Houston Metro area and is the only media of its kind in the game of High School Baseball. Promotion of the game of High School Baseball, it's Players, Coaches, and Volunteers is the site's goal. Houston5ABaseball.com has promoted and provided media coverage of such players as

Houston 5A Baseball is the home of the annual TASO-Houston Baseball Umpires Scholarship Tournament. The tournament is widely known as the largest High School Baseball tournament of it's kind generating over $50,000 in revenues annually with 95% of revenues awarded to students each year in the form of scholarships.
Houston 5A Baseball deploys professional writers, photographers, and broadcasters to venues throughout the Houston Metropolitan area each season as well as accepting countless hours of work delivered by trusted volunteer members of the High School Baseball Community. A unique trust has been established between media (Houston5ABaseball.com), and the community prompting many to get involved. With over 5000 members, Houston 5A Baseball has realized year around coverage of the sport including comprehensive coverage of in-season and off-season events. For one week each June, Houston 5A Baseball writers, and photographers call the pressbox at Round Rock'sDell Diamond home as they cover the entire UIL State Championships from Classifications 5A to 1A.
