- Winmor
WINMOR is a
radio transmission protocol intended to be used in theWinlink 2000 Global Radio E-mail System byamateur radio operators, marine radio stations, and radio stations in isolated areas. [ [http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2008/08/26/10284/?nc=1 New HF Digital Protocol to Debut at DCC] , August 26, 2008] WINMOR will complement thePACTOR modes in thehigh frequency portion of theWinlink system. WINMOR will debut at the 2008ARRL /TAPR Digital Communications Conference. Unlike PACTOR, only a simple computer soundcard-to-radio interface is required, as compared to PACTOR's relatively expensive externalterminal node controller . It will have at least three modes, ranging from 200 to 2000Hertz in bandwidth, and is expected to provide speeds ranging from 125 to at least 1875 bits per second, similar to PACTOR's various modes. When released, it will be fully documented and without restrictions or license issues preventing anyone from using the protocol in other software.
