Amanda Ruth Fazio is an Australian politician and Australian Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Council. Fazio has been a member of the Council since 30 August 2000 and is serving her second term in that Council. She is currently the Deputy President of the Council and is also the Deputy Government Whip in that Council.

Fazio was born to parents Vince and Ruth Fazio. She grew up in Cabramatta, Nowra and Taree. She was educated at Taree Primary School and Cabramatta West Primary School. She attended Cabramatta High School and then attended the MLC School at Burwood.

After finishing High School, she became a public servant in the Commonwealth Government. She joined the Australian Labor Party in February 1977 at the Enfield Branch.

She has worked as a staffer for Australian Federal politicians Leo McLeay and Stephen Martin.

She was preselected to fill the vacancy in the Legislative Council in July 2000 caused by the resignation of Jeff Shaw. ["Fazio preselected as expected to fill upper house vacancy" AAP General News (Australia) 07-07-2000] As a result, she was appointed to the Council as a member on 30 August 2000.

She stood for reelection in 2007 where she was given the seventh place on the Labor party ticket. She has been Deputy President of the Council and also it's Chair of Committees since 8 May 2007. She is currently on the Privileges Committee, the Standing Committee on Law and Justice, the General Purpose Standing Committee No. 3, and the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters. She was the Deputy Governemnt Whip from 23 October 2001 to 28 February 2003. She was Chair of Committees from 30 April 2003 to 2 March 2007 and also the Chair of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice since 25 August 2003.
