= Vaurampatty Village =

Vaurampatty Village Panchayat is located 5 km from Namakkal town.

After recent urbanisation Namakkal town has extended up to this village & village warmely welcomes the new migrants. A huge count of migrants were from other nearby villages and living in Maruthi Nagar close to Namakkal and on Mullai Nagar located on southeast of the Village.

A couple of hotels with star ratings/facility has been built in the recent years (Hotel Nala & The Hotel Golden Palace) and helps improving the local economy, Land values etc.,

Geography

Vagurampatty was surrounded by Vasanthapuram in the East, Siddhar malai karadu in the West, Laddhuvadi in the South and Kondichettipatty, Namakkal in the North

History

The village makes part in the history of Annanmars or Ponnar-Shanker (Epic of Kongu Vellala Gounders). Varagunna perungudi kongu gounders were the early settlers of this village (800AD)

Varagunna Perungudi Kongu Gounders are having three family subgroups in the village - Kuthirai, Mur-pattukarar, Pir-pattukarar. Early settlers of Varagunna Perungudi Gounders built the Kaliamman temple in the northern end of Vagurampatty (now Kondichettipatti) around 1400AD. The temple still holds the customs of giving the first respect to Kuthirai, Murpattukarar, Pirpattukarar families in vagurampatty village before any given to others
