Roles and missions

The 751 Squadron's primary mission is to execute search and rescue operations, and has as its secondary mission the execution of tactical and general air transport operations.

History

Activated in 1977, along with 752 Squadron, to operate the SA 330 Puma in search and rescue missions.

In 2007, with the completion of the retirement of the SA 330 Puma and the subsequent deactivation of the 711 Squadron, a detachment of the 751 Sqn. started to operate the EH101 from Lajes Air Base.
