Lucy Virginia French

Lucy Virginia French (March 16 1825 – March 31 1881) was an American author born Lucy Virginia Smith in Accomack County, Virginia to Mease W. Smith and Elizabeth Parker. She wrote for the Louisville "Journal" under the name of L'Inconnue. In 1852 she became the editor of "Southern Ladies Book". On January 12 1853 she married Colonel John Hopkins French.
