88888 Lights Out is a campaign aimed at increasing the awareness about
Global warming and promoting actionable ideas to cool theglobe .This initiative is spearheaded byExNoRa International , which is a well known Non-Governmental Organization inIndia .ExNoRa's 88888 Lights Out campaign called for people to switch off their lights for 8 Minutes on 8-8-8 at 8 PM to spread awareness and start activities that cool the globe.
The campaign's aim was to both create awareness about global warming, and provide tips to arrest the effects of it. 88888 Lights Out is a repeat of other successful campaigns conducted in
Sydney ,France & [San Francisco] .The call to action to individuals were> Learn more about the causes and effects of Global warming> Begin making changes at individual level to help mitigate the effects of global warming> Express support and acknowledgement of this serious issue, turn lights off for 8 minutes @ 8PM on Aug 8th 2008.
