Brigadier Francis Ingall
OBE , DSO (1908-1992) was a BritishArmy Officer . He was the founding commandant of thePakistan Military Academy .Ingall was born on 24 October 1908 in the county of
Surrey ,England ,UK . In 1927, he joined theRoyal Military College Sandhurst and was commissioned in 1928. He joined the 6th Lancers, which was known as theBengal Lancers of theBritish Indian Army . He saw action in theNorth West Frontier Province and participated in theItalian Campaign ,World War II . He commanded anarmoured brigade during theItalian Campaign for which he was awarded theDistinguished Service Order .In 1947, Ingall became the founder
Commandant of the Pakistan Military Academy and continued to remain so till 1951. Brigadier Francis Ingall was awarded anOBE by theBritish Government for his vital service to Pakistan by foundingPakistan Military Academy . Later Francis Ingall migrated to theUSA . In 1982 he was appointed the HonoraryConsul General ofPakistan inCalifornia ,USA .His autobiography "The Last of the Bengal Lancers" was published in 1988. He died in 1992.
