"In the Age of the Quiet Sun" is a science fiction short story by William Barton. It originally appeared in "Asimov's Science Fiction" in September 2008. The plot revolves around an aging astronaut and his crew in an expedition to find oil on the asteroid 624 Hektor, while the company he originally started Standard ARM (Asteroid Resources Mining) is on their trail.
It is set within the same universe as "When We Were Real" and "Acts of Conscience".
