The ride is essentialy a clone of Mantis, only slightly taller and faster and an extra corkscrew at the end. When it opened in 1997, the ride's track and support columns were painted yellow. In 2002, the track was repainted electric lime and the support columns violet. In March 2006, the track was returned to the original yellow color, while the supports were painted royal blue. During this latest painting, a contractor was injured when he fell from twenty-five feet above ground while painting Chang. He was taken to the hospital.
