The 2008 University of Idaho football team will represent The University of Idaho in the 2008 college football season. The Vandals will play their home games at the Kibbie Dome, in 2007 the Vandals installed a new field made by RealGrass Pro, after playing 18 years on the original synthetic field that was installed in 1990. This will also mark the first time in 5 years that the Vandals will have the same coaching staff at the school two successive years in a row.

Previous season

The 2007 season was a "rebuilding year" for the Vandals. Earlier in the year Dennis Erickson had left the school after only one season. With a dismal 1-11 record, and the only win coming against a Division I-AA School. Idaho finished the season with a loss against Utah State at the Kibbie Dome.
