Houston ,Texas ) is an Americanjazz trombonist.Lacy's father was a teacher who had played guitar with

He took a bachelor's degree inphysics before studying music at theBerklee College of Music , where he played withBranford Marsalis ,Greg Osby , andMarvin Smith . Following this Lacy worked withHenry Threadgill ,Oliver Lake ,Julius Hemphill ,Dizzy Gillespie ,Abdullah Ibrahim ,Bobby Watson , David Murray,McCoy Tyner , andLester Bowie .
