[http://www.myspace.com/pcmckinnon] P.C. McKinnon, born Peter Charles McKinnon (b. 1958) in the industrial city of Waterbury, Connecticut. In 1976, after graduated high school, he entered the Air Force, where he remained until his retirement in 1996. Before retirement, he graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Legal Affairs. After retirement, he moved to San Antonio, Texas. He worked for the Office of the Attorney General filing and enforcing child support court orders. During that period he finished a two graduate programs at Webster University (San Antonio Campus) in Public Administration and Management. He continues to work in public administration for municipal government.

McKinnon began writing in 1992 during his undergraduate years, keeping his poetry on myriad life issues to himself. In 2003 and 2004, the back-to-back deaths of a lifelong childhood friend, from Wilson's Disease, and a local friend, from cancer, prompted the publishing of his first collection of poetry, If Only Yet The Fog. This collection, released in July 2004, is a cathartic and emotional roller-coaster on life issues.

He has been featured at the Austin International Poetry Festival, the Society of Hispanic and Latino Writers, and Barnes & Noble. He volunteers his time working on community literary projects and events. As a member of the planning committee for a local poetry project, he collaborated with private and public agencies to sponsor the City of San Antonio’s first Poets in the Park held in April 2006, which he hosted. He served on the Poetry Out Loud San Antonio advisory committee for Synergy Foundation. Poetry Out Loud (POL), sponsored by the Poetry Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, is a national program in which high school students learn to read, understand, and recite well-known works of poetry.

His poetry can be found in numerous printed anthologies and various on-line sites and publications. He continues to write and reads at a variety of open-mic venues in San Antonio, Texas.

Your head on my chest, resting, drifting into a shadow’s fold;our soft, entwined bodies glow.

Sheers upon twilight’s breezefloat like angel wings;summer clothes on the cabin floor sleep.

celestial bodies behind you.I find myself inAphrodite's counsel.

Your face, propped upon your right elbow, exposed body, looking

at me. My desirous eyes, your ethereal image, waitingfor a portal to open.

Waiting for something, like love perhaps.Only you could bring

my dreams to reality. On that day, I willhold your forever.
