Bill Brown (politician)

Bill Brown (politician)

Bill Brown (born November 10, 1973) was a municipal councillor in Dryden, Ontario Canada. First elected as a councillor in 1994 at the age of 21, he is the youngest to hold this position. Brown was re-elected in 1997, 2000, and 2003 serving for a time as deputy mayor. Brown has been prominently active in several capacities in his community and in politics since his youth.

In the 2004 and 2006 federal elections, Brown was chosen to run as the Conservative Party of Canada's candidate in the Kenora riding. Both times he was defeated by the Liberals' Roger Valley, a former Dryden mayor.

Brown narrowly survived a tragedy in December 2004 that claimed the life of his father Kenneth Brown, himself a prominent Dryden businessman. The younger Brown sustained serious injuries after the pick-up truck he was driving collided with a transport truck on the Trans-Canada Highway.

In the 2006 Dryden municipal election, Brown chose not to let his name stand for re-election.
