Edward Archibald Parry

The Rt Rev Edward Archibald Parry was Bishop of Guyana from 1900 until 1921 [ [http://www.stgeorges.org.gy/St%20Georges%20Cathedral%20Book.pdf Diocesan history] ] ; and Archbishop of the West Indies from 1917 until 1921. Born into an eminent family [His father was Bishop of Dover from 1850 until 1870; and his grandfather an Arctic explorer > “Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] , he was educated at Winchester and Oriel College, Oxford [ [http://homepage.ntlworld.com/im.griffiths/parryfamilyhistory/parrytrnscrptns/alumnioxon.htm#2014 Census details] ] and ordained in 1884 [The Times, Wednesday, Dec 24, 1884; pg. 8; Issue 31325; col A "Ordinations:Diocese of London"] . After a curacy at "St Mary, Acton" [ [ http://freespace.virgin.net/stmary.acton/ Information about church] ] and a period as Resident Chaplain to the Bishop of Rochester he was Rector of Sundridge and Vicar of "St Mark, New Milverton, Leamington" [ [http://www.st-marks.net/index.pl?s=home&dc=&dp=21 Church History] ] before his elevation to the Episcopate.
