Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is an Indian actress. Set to make her debut in the forthcoming romantic comedy "Poda Podi" alongside Silambarasan, Varalaxmi is the daughter of prominent actor and politician, Sarath Kumar.

Career

Early career

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was born to actor Sarath Kumar and his first wife, Chaya, on March 5, 1985 in Chennai, India. She also has a younger biological sister named Pooja, as well as a half-brother, Rahul, born to her father and his present wife, actress Raadhika. After attending St. Michael's College in Chennai, Sarathkumar studied at Hindustan College at Madras University, earning a degree in microbiology, furthermore, she earned a Masters degree in Management at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, graduating in 2007.

However, Sarathkumar shifted her focus to cinema, returning to Chennai.
