John Stanley Bartley, often credited as Jon Bartley is an American Emmy Award-winning cinematographer. Who is best known for his work on television series such as "Lost" and "The X Files" and blockbusting movies such as "See Spot Run", "Eight Legged Freaks" and "Disturbing Behaviour".

Bartley Grew up in New Zealand, and didn't get to watch television until he was in his early teens, and he still was able to watch only one channel.cite news|url=http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P3-1528199871.html|title=ASC CLOSE-UP|date=2008-08-01|accessdate=2008-08-23] In an interview he said that "National Velvet" and "The Bridge on the River Kwai" were two of his favorite films when he was young.

In 1995 Bartley received his first Emmy Award nomination, in the category "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Cinematography for a Series" for the "The X Files" episode "One Breath", he lost the award to Tim Suhrstedt for "Chicago Hope".
