Mahjoub Omer Bashary (born March 20, 1925 in Berber, Sudan) was a Sudanese journalist. He attended high school at Gordon's College in Cairo, Egypt, and then he graduated from King Fouad's College majoring in Philosophy. Bashary continued his education attaining postgraduate degrees from the University of London and Columbia College of Columbia University in the United States.
Mahjoub returned to his home country where he started his career teaching at various school districts. During President Abood's era, he became responsible for all government media publications which allowed him to gain a reputation as a journalist and writer.
Mahjoub is survived by his wife Leila Salih and two children named Maha and Hani.
