FC Ştiinţa Bacău is a Romanian football club located in Bacău. The team was founded in 2008 and began playing in the second division. The club's first ever official match was a 0-3 defeat against Ceahlăul Piatra Neamţ.

Lotus Băile Felix had earned promotion from Liga III to Liga II, but they announced their withdrawal due to financial reasons. A group of businessmen from Bacău decided to form a new team to occupy the vacant spot. Thus, Ştiinţa Bacău was born.
